#8823 closed defect (fixed)

MapPaint style switcher is inactive if there is no data layer although a style influences the display — at Version 6

Description (last modified by pendluuum)

MapPaint style switcher (View menu) is inactive (greyed out) if there is no data layer although a style influences the display.

The background colour is depending on the last selected style (Potlatch white, JOSM black) but cannot be changed unless you create or load a data layer. That is if relevance if you display gpx traces (on top of a half transparent mapnik layer).

Should be: the switcher should be active if the style influences the display.

tested with: version 5990

fix #8823 - enable map paint styles switching with GPX layers

As workaround for tested, please use the toggle dialog

OK, thank you so far! Is there a reason to not enable it all the time? E.g. the Map paint style also affects display if you have those two layers: mapnik and bing (both half transparent).

At skyper: I don't see a "toggle dialog". However, I mentioned a workaround in my initial post: add a new data layer.
