Blank screen since update to Java 7

Description
I'm using Xmonad Window manager on Arch Linux. And since the update to Java 7, it shows the initialisation screen, but the main screen stays blank.

I tried executing JAVACMD=/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk/jre/bin/java josm, but this gives just the same result.
There are no errors being shown when executed from the command line.

Can you run other Java applications ?
