can't run validator while downloading traces in background

Description

download data and traces for an area where there are a lot of traces. put trace downloading in background. try to run validator. trace download progress bar is shown instead.

it seems that validator automatically kicks in after download is finished, which is even more confusing :)

another scenario :

have a gpx open, start trace download, put it in background.
while it's still there, delete the trace and open another trace.
while the first trace disappears, second is not opened.

then, when download finishes (or is canceled), first trace is still there, and the second one is also opened...
