#8338 closed enhancement (worksforme)

Color option for GPX tracks

Description

Is it possible to have a way to define a color for all GPX tracks loaded in JOSM, please?

Right now I see:

  • Single color (can be customized for named layers)
  • Velocity
  • Direction
  • Dilution of position
  • Track date

With the first option selected I can customize all download GPX data with an unique color (using a named layer), I can customize individual GPXs (by defining one "Layer: trackname.gpx" and a color) but I couldn't find a way to define a color for all GPX tracks (so if open 10 GPX files I won't need to create one named layer for each one).

I also couldn't find a way to edit nor create named layers in Preferences → Display settings → Colors (we have only: "Choose", "Set to default", "Set all to default" and "Remove".

You can change the color in color prefs, when you select individual color for GPX tracks in GPX settings (something like GPS point as name). To change color double click the line or use "Choose".

To set settings for individual layers open the layer and right-click it in layer display dialog.

What about allowing for paint styles on GPX layers? customizable node color/shape/size and way color/size depending on a series of determined tags, such as time,DOP,speed, etc. Since the GPX format is static, the tag options could be more rigid than the map paint syles, i.e. a preferences tab with the tags and select options for color/size/shape
