    11Some more details - as far as I have noticed:
    22- Only happens on closed ways
    3 - Only the second node in the way counting from start node will remain.
     3- Only the first node in the way which should be removed, will remain.

     5I attach an example with two closed ways. Corner nodes and nodes with tags will never be removed, so in the second square the first node after the node with the name "2" will remain.
