"simplify way" sometimes failing to remove nodes

Description
start a new layer, draw a rectangle, orthogonalise it. add another node on segment 1. try to simplify the way - this node is not removed. additional nodes on all other segments are properly removed.

Some more details - as far as I have noticed:
- Only happens on closed ways
- Only the first node in the way which should be removed, will remain.
I attach an example with two closed ways. Corner nodes and nodes with tags will never be removed, so in the second square the first node after the node with the name "2" will remain.
