Hi
As described in the simple 3D Buildings tagging scheme (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Simple_3D_Buildings), buildings will contain/include a relation of type=building.
Please include this relation type into the JOSM validation. Yet it always hit a "relation type unknown" error.

Two years later, type=building is used 6265 times.
While implementing the full preset is one thing, it would already help if the validator could stop complaining about it.
I had cases that well-meaning folks retagged building relations into multipolygons, and the next guy deleted it completely because obviously multipolygon was nonsense.

Good point. I had already pointed more clearly to the current use on the old proposal page,
but I'll take action and separate the current use from the proposal tomorrow.

At least kendzi3d (the plugin) and osmwiki:F4_Map seem to properly support it.

the relation is now used more than 10.000 times so I think we can include it in core.

The validator relies on presets. According to http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/type#values,
type=buildingis used rather rarely for now. Therefore, I wouldn't add this preset right now and await a more frequent usage. However, the "3D Simple Buildings" preset http://openstreetmap.org.pl/kendzi/preset/current/roofspresets.xml could be adapted (cf. bottom of trunk/data/defaultpresets.xml for some examples).
