#7814 closed enhancement (needinfo)

Support for file:// is needed

Reported by: Pedja Owned by: Pedja
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Core Version: tested
Keywords: imagery, url Cc:

Description

JOSM can load imagery only from server using url containing http://. It would be good to allow using file:// url's too for those who use custom imagery and it is available on local disk.

You're sure? Tested also with 3 slashes? file:///?

I've created local tile set together with html that loads it using OpenLayers. HTML runs fine, but when I use the same local URI in JOSM it just says it cannot load tiles.

Yes, I used correct URI with three slashes.

Interestingly, it seems that JOSM does try to load tile. For URI that looks like file:///D:/www/map/gu/17/73684/47828.png it reports that it cannot load it as D:\www\map\gu\17\73684\47828.png. However, tile at that path does exist.

Replying to Pedja:

Could you please attach your tile set ? It's just maybe a Windows-specific error I could test.
