Description

It would be really nice to have editor for Presets. It is quite hard to set and maintain preset editing in XML.

Do you know the plugin tagging-preset-tester?. From the description:

Adds a tagging preset tester to the help menu, which helps you developing of tagging presets (quick preview of the dialogue that will popup). You can start the jar-file as standalone as well.

I think skyper may agree the plugin is useful for that :)

Sorry, guys but that is not the same. As I usually edit with a text editor I have nice syntax highlighting and fast search/copy/replace. Still I have to look up the syntax quite often.

tagging-preset-tester helps to check and reports errors but it does not complete support menus and it will never be an editor.

Then it will be a wontfix. We provide XSD file so any XML editor will do the job, we won't reinvent the wheel.

If any XML editor will do I would not ask.

We need to document about and link to the XSD file then.

The target namespace for JOSM's XML formats is not only some string, but a working URL!
