Summary: | JOSM will not print → Print issues with Mac OS X |
Java 7u40 includes a lot of print and Mac OSX bugfixes.
Can someone confirm it works fine with recent versions of JOSM / Java ?

first it seemed to work, I didn't actually print to a printer, selected "output to file" and was asked for a filename (with postscript extension .ps), all settings seemed to work but then there was no file. Retried and again no file was created (also searched for the filename on disk).
From what I saw in the preview (which worked well) this could surely be improved, e.g. I have segment numbers active on the screen, but I wouldn't want them on a printout, and the colours are optimized for a dark background (screen) so they won't be well readable printed on white paper. Also the paper was set to A0 but the only installed printer supports up to A4. Not sure if JOSM needs a printing function anyway ;-)

After some research it appears the printing function was terribly buggy with first versions of Java 7 on OSX. Java 8 resolved the situation. Concerning the lack of PDF printing, see #12728
Hi
In the last JOSM release (5181), it seems to have been partially corrected.
JOSM will print, it works perfectly.
But the save as file feature is still not working.
