JOSM reboots Ubuntu during Download from OSM

Description

On Ubuntu 10.04, when, immediately after opening JOSM, and I immediately do a download from OSM, it resets/REBOOTS the whole Ubuntu system! But, if I first open any gpx trace, then do a download after, it works fine.

Always reproducible? Java vendor/version? What if you open a saved *.osm file?
