Description
After installing the latest version (3514) I get the message, that JOSM couldn`t find information of the installed plugins openstreetbugs;remotecontrol;validator;wmsplugin when starting JOSM.
Also it's not possible to install further plugins. Before installing the latest version, JOSM worked fine (except that bug with the installation of new plugins #5373).

Same problem, I usually update on a new version. When I first tried 3315 and it was the same as the dev version I assumed there would be an update to address the problem so went back to an earlier version.
JOSM reports I have the latest plugins but then doesn't use them. Valadator and remote control are the ones I'm most interested in.
Normally the new version of JOSM picks up the plugins, I am running from G: drive in windows 7, C: is a small SSD.
I have tried uninstalling, deleting the folder then reinstalling but the warning message still appears.

On restarting after deleting the folder the second time it asked me if I wished to update the plugins and they are now working.
Thanks John

Replying to stoecker:
When you don't answer the questions I can't help.
Exactly the same as john mentioned above. The message appears directly when starting JOSM. Last version was 3374 or 3376 (sry - not sure)
Description could be delivered better in german.

Even if my questions are short, they are important! I usually don't have time to explain them, but you can assume, they make sense to a developer. I will try to explain them:
Your problem is that the string "openstreetbugs;remotecontrol;validator;wmsplugin" is no plugin at all. Older version of josm used ";" as separator and the legacy code has now been dropped, but the ; is not used for more than a year now, so if you don't upgrade from a very old version, then this can't happen.
For at least 2 years josm just ignores such errors and clears the entry, so when you start once or install new plugins this message will vanish. You need to select the plugins again in this case.
So when all these mechanisms fail for you, there is something broken very seriously. So please describe really detailed what you do to install or update plugins. EVERY step. As said, without this information there is no help possible.

I received the same error as well.
I installed JOSM a few weeks ago (don't know the version but the Windows installer I dug out of the recycle bin has a file size of 13.7 MB (14,434,510 bytes). Today the splash screen suggested I update, and I dutifully did - to version 3514.
Tried slogging through without plugins. Gave up, wiped the folder, reinstalled, saw same problem, went to preferences, downloaded plugins, and now seem to be working OK.

I never hat a "very old version" because I started with JOSM about 4 weeks ago.
I use the latest version (as written above) and the string is exactly as described.

I did exactly what you suggest. After restarting I reselect the plugins but they are not ticked and still missing after another restart, even if i can find the entrys in the plugin-folder of the installation-path.

I really tried and I appreciate your help, but I'm not a developer and no native speaker so my description may be not helpful. Close the ticket - I will use potlatch again.

I recreated the installer (new size 14682340). This one should fix this issue. Thought for already installed josm simply going to settings and reactivate/download the wanted plugins is enough.
When reinstalling with new installer, the josm settings must be removed (in home directory of user).

Well and exactly this information was needed to know where the error was. It was in the installer for windows and happens only for fresh installations.
I did exactly what you suggest. After restarting I reselect the plugins but they are not ticked
and still missing after another restart, even if i can find the entrys in the plugin-folder of
the installation-path.
Actually "selecting" means to ADD a tick, so they get installed/activated.
I really tried and I appreciate your help, but I'm not a developer and no native speaker so my
description may be not helpful.
Whether or not your are developer or native speaker has nothing to do with the fact if you can describe what you did or not. There have been many people who wrote English much harder to understand, but most at least try to provide the required information.
Close the ticket - I will use potlatch again.
Wow, the ultimate threat. Be happy then.

Sry, but I didn't want to upset you by that! I just tried to say, that I have to use potlatch, if I could not explain my problem as detailed as you need.
Thx for your help!!

I downloaded the new Windows installer and everything looks good here.
Thanks for the fix.

What version did you have previously? Where do the messages at the bottom of your request (starting with cache) come from?
What do you mean installing new plugins does not work? What do you do to install new plugins?
