Can't move map any more

Description

v2561

I've used JOSM for over a year with no problems. But now I find with latest JOSM I can't move the map with the right mouse button.

I can move with the arrow keys, but this is quite cumbersome.

Any ideas?

v2561 is not the last tested version. It should help to reset the preferences: Help/ResetPreferences

OK, so I downloaded 3094, and I reset the preferences using instructions in wiki.

But it didn't fix the problem, still can't drag the map any more.

Hi, to narrow down the problem we need a little more info:

  • operating system
  • Java vendor / Java version

Then it would be interesting, if right mouse button is broken in general or if it is an isolated problem with moving the map.

  • do you get right click menu in the side dialogs?
  • with slippy map installed: do you get right click menu for the main map?
  • Does the mouse curser change to move symbol when trying to map-move?

Finally it would be quite useful to know, from what version on it was broken, exactly. (You can get old versions here:

OS: WindowsXP SP3
Java: 1.6.0_17

Yes, right-click menu does appear in the side dialogs.
Not sure which right click menu you mean on main map... but on download dialog, on slippy map tab, right mouse button does allow the map to be dragged no problem
The mouse cursor does change momentarily when right-click dragging, in fact it is possible to drag the map about 2 or 3 pixels before it fails.

This looks more like a hardware problem to me. Maybe the right button signal is not continous. Does this happen on one system only? With a different mouse as well?
