something like an old testing version but with bug fixes
I often used testing as an backup, if unstable does not work, but testing has still some bugs already solved in upstream but not in testing. I do not know how hard it is to inclued those fixes and patch testing.
Today, testing and unstable were both unstable, so version 2255 with bug fixes would have been stable

Managing different release version is lots of work. Nobody is willing to do this work. Tested is stable for approx. a month for some releases now. It can always happen, that after a long test phase bug appear when we switch to a new tested. We watch that and try to fix them very fast in that phase, so most users wont notice.
For now tested works reliable enough, so we wont introduce a new release system for some time.
What do you ask for?
