Description
In the "Balises" menu of the french version of JOSM, "Voie piétonnière" creates "highway=footway" and "pédestre" creates "highway=pedestrian".
This is misleading.
at http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/FR:Map_Features, you can see a better translation :
"highway=pedestrian" -> "Rue piétonne"
"highway=footway" -> "Chemin pour piétons"

Should be fixed. Reopen, if not.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
"Rue piétonne" was already fixed in Launchpad, and I've updated "voie piétonnière" to be "chemin pour piétons".
This ticket can be fixed once the new translation is integrated/packaged in JOSM.
