Missing feature which makes the opposite of "Merge Nodes":

• Select a point of a line/...

• Break this line/... into two parts at this point

• Should be found below "Merge Nodes" as "Break Node"

Typical usage of this menu item is to break a way into two parts with different properties (footway, motorway).

Option exists Called "Unglue" or "separate ways" or whatever. Keycode is "G".

Unglue do not work.

There only pop ups an error message "This node is not glued to anything else".
Which is right.

I requested a feature to break an object into two completely new objects with different properties.

There are bugs in the openstreetmap data. It should be possible to fix these within 1 or 2 minutes.
With the cureent toolset it would take 1 or 2 hours (and noone would do it, because it is more or less a silly sisyphos work).

You can break a line with <P> (split way).
