#268 closed defect (fixed)
broken "preferences" file overwritten without backup copy

Description
When downloading plugins using the plugins tab in preferences, they are saved (and entered into the preferences file) with two leading newlines each. So JOSM will report a broken preferences file upon next startup and overwrite it (without leaving a backup copy, loosing all my customisations!).
After manually renaming the files and fixing the preferences file, the plugins are working more or less fine.
Marking critical because of overwritten preferences file.

A simple Yes-No -JOptionPane would be enough to help here.
It is very anoying. Especially if you collected some
wms-servers in the config or have to look up your osm-login
every time.

This has already been reported as #259 since I last tried to report it. Changing this bug to be only about the overwritten config file.
