Coding error generated when trying to edit relation

Description

JOSM generated error message (and see also attached dump) when attempting to edit a relation.
Error persists after restarting JOSM. Error relates to attempts to edit relation 59905 (70 members, created in Potlatch). I would have created a new relation, transferred the members and deleted the faulty one - but can't even open the relation to select members. Way concerned (which had just been edited to adjust nodes to better GPS trace and also split to allow adding additional tags to one part of it) has ID = 0 - obviously not the original ID when it was - apparently - created in Potlatch.
