Description (last modified by )
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Dragged a node quite a long way then it appeared to stop existing - just the lines between where it should have been and the adjacent 2 nodes in that way. Then came up with error messages. When I changed the tagging it wouldn't let me undo changes with ctrl+Y anymore. I have a screenshot though not sure how to upload it here.
What is the expected result?
What happens instead?
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

Are you able to reproduce this? If yes, please try to describe more exactly how.

I believe the data inconsistency existed already prior to the actions in the description but I could be wrong and dragging a node a long way with a certain combinations of answers to the warning dialogs leads to a data inconsistency.

That's what I fear as well. Also only a few plugins are used, so it is more likely a problem in the sources which are maintained by the JOSM team.

Yes, I have this fear for quite some time but never told about it. There are far to many tickets with only few plugins installed and these few plugins are often different ones.
I hoped the changes to the conflict resolution would have fixed the problems in core but likely there are more.
Would it help to make data inconsistencies better visible to the user (right now you have to dig deep an look at the layer infos) or even directly create a bug report window in order to better fetch the last made actions which lead to the inconsistency.
