Mapcss rules don't override previous rules if using layers and combining multiple selectors

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. load the attached mapcss file
2. load the attached osm file
3. look at the examples

What is the expected result?

All the elements to the side of the ways are purple.

What happens instead?

At least one side/layer is not affected and remains a different color (orange)
