JOSM on Ubuntu has extremely tiny text

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Follow the instructions to download JOSM on Ubuntu
2. Open the "tested" version (currently 19613)

What is the expected result?

You should be able to read the text

What happens instead?

The text on my laptop appears extremely tiny and there is no easy way to zoom it
