snapping intersection points sometimes bends straight lines

Description

Sometimes when you have 2 crossing ways, and you click within the snapping distance on the intersection (which does not yet have a common node), JOSM will put the new node not on the intersection but slightly off, resulting in a bend of the lines.
I am not sure if it happens depending on the tags, FWIW, I observed it several times with kerbs and driveways, and with driveways and sidewalks (footways).
