1. Download MapWithAI
2. Restart app
3. Attempt to search for building data
4. No results

What is the expected result?

Microsoft buildings shows up as a dataset

seems to also happen with the us address dataset as well, at least when I ran MapWithAI on a separate computer

The address dataset seems to work (look for "NAD" or "United States Addresses").
I don't know about the MS Building dataset -- it should be included as part of the "MapWithAI"; there is an additional default parameter that returns the MS buildings from the same endpoint as the FB Roads.

If it was an issue downloading the data, I will need a bbox/download area to test (in both Rapid and JOSM).

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if the FB road endpoint is starting to have issues. AFAIK, there is no one really maintaining it anymore (they laid off all of their open map editor developers, so the endpoint is probably low priority as well).
