Description

According to a recent thread josm warns the mapper about highway=bus_stop but the tag is the established tagging for bus stops

The only problem is that Busstop is in the old scheme, whereas the more detailed in in new scheme?

I see no reason to change anything. JOSM does not warn about this or anyway encourages users to modify that stuff. It only presents the two different tag sections which is a result of the duality of that tagging.
