JOSM editing my map

Description

I'm making some changes to my own map using josm. I have two files containing certain regions. These files contain path changes. After each new path I create in these maps. New nodes are created and their idles are 0 by default. When I want to merge these two maps or perform any other operation, unexpected new paths are created. .As in the attached image. What can I do to prevent this from happening on Josm's side?

  1. It would help to have the two sample files. We should only be merging objects with the same positive id (the objects that appear to have id=0 actually have a negative number; we just show the user 0 by default).
  2. I suspect that you moved an node with a non-negative id, which would be merged.
