Remote Control / Authorization | HTTP Error 400: Bad Request - Unknown state for authorization

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Open preferences
2. Go to "OSM Server"
3. Click "Authorize now (semi-automatic)
4. authenticate on OSM website.
5. get redirected to ​http://127.0.0.1:8111/oauth_authorization?code=<REDACTED>&state=<REDACTED>
6. josm reports "HTTP Error 400: Bad Request - Unknown state for authorization"

What is the expected result?

authentication setup works.

What happens instead?

HTTP error received.

nevermind - I'm an idiot and had multiple versions of josm running. :(
