Annoying popup with OpenWebStart

I finally switched to OpenWebStart and it's really a step-back in user experience.

Every single time I start JOSM - I get this extremely annoying popup trying to force me to create shortcuts.

I do not want that - I don't wish to be dictated to clutter my desktop or start menu.

Is this a problem with the windows installer?

This is an OpenWebStart issue, not the windows installer. The same behavior occurs with macOS.

Looking at source:trunk/native/josm.jnlp​, we use

        <shortcut>
            <desktop/>
            <menu/>
        </shortcut>

OpenWebStart defaults to Ask if hinted: Ask user if hinted in jnlp file, which means it always asks.
