Description

For the past 2 months, I couldn't have Mapbox and Maxar imageries work due to invalid API keys. How do I fix this problem?

Please clear your tile cache to see if that fixes the problem.

How do you open the imagery layers? Do you use the default entries or something else like a session or customized entries?
For the default entries an update (button in the middle of imagery preferences) might do the job.

An implementation note for the API keys: they are downloaded and then stored in memory. At this time, the only way to "clear" or "reset" them is to restart JOSM. Clearing the tile cache might help if the cache is misbehaving and storing error tiles, but should do nothing.

If they are using a session file, then they should be able to remove the image entries and readd them, then save the session again.

Replying to skyper: I use the default entries. Unfortunately, updating the entries didn't work.

You aren't the only one this has happened to. On discord(?), I think someone said that they had success after removing the problematic entries from the default imagery list and then re-adding them. If you are able, we would appreciate the current imagery settings so that we can hopefully reproduce.

If you have Expert Mode enabled, can you go to JOSM Preferences -> Advanced Preferences -> do a search for imagery -> select all of the entries (select one + ctrl+a should do it) -> Export selected items. Please check and make certain that you are not uploading any private information.

Maxar and Mapbox entries stop working after changing their Menu Name.
However, reverting back to original, default name, doesn't help. One needs to remove and readd these entries from default imagery list to fix this.

Thank you. Mapbox and Maxar now work in JOSM.
