Is it possible to use JOSM with OS other than Windows, Linux or Mac?

Probably? I think the primary requirement is that the platform can run Java 8 or later. I don't think any of the JOSM core dependencies have any natives, however some plugins do (example: JOGL/LWJGL), and those have platform requirements. I think we are also only special casing Windows, Mac, and Linux.

So I would anticipate being able to run JOSM on BSD, but some plugins (again, JOGL/LWJGL) may not work.
