Description
What about some tools that improve editing, such as …
Suggested Tool | Description + additional Features |
Rotation | Rotation at an indicated angle or free rotation with mouse |
Snapping | Snapping while moving and rotating objects; a possiblilty to turn it on an off, to change the snap distance and snapping mode (points, lines) |
Tools to align objects | For example same spacing between multiple objects, align lines collateral, guide lines |
Furthermore, a quick preview of the map and a better integration of multipolygons would be appreciated.

What do you mean with
- quick preview of the map?
- better integration of multipolygons?
- little toolbar for the map painting tools?
Normally please report each idea as individual bug-report. Such collected reports aren't easy to handle.

- Rotation: JOSM supports rotation, use the select tool and ctrl + shift.
- Snapping: How would that work? For any mapped area there are so many lines snapping to the right one is pure luck or requires a zoom level of < 2m. Also, I don't see why one would want to snap things. Please describe in more detail what you had in mind.
- Collateral lines is likely a duplicate of #67. I'm not sure what you mean by guide lines… like some kind of raster drawn over the map? I can see the use for the "same space" issue, but finding the shortest connection between two lines and ensuring they have an equal distance from each other probably want do much good, at least not for the testcase I had in mind (equally distribute houses along a street). My suggestion would be to use the distribute action that has been added recently or if you want to draw houses, draw a parallel line to the street and then draw the houses with one side sharing that helper line. Once done, orthogonalize the houses using the nodes of the helper line as orientation and you're done.

Maybe a new little toolbar for the map painting tools would be good.
