#21499 closed task (wontfix)
remove or refactor Multitagger
Reported by: | GerdP | Owned by: | team |
---|---|---|---|
Priority: | normal | Milestone: | |
Component: | Plugin utilsplugin2 | Version: | |
Keywords: | HistoryComboBox | Cc: | Don-vip |
Description
The class MultiTagger
contains deprecated methods reg. recent changes in HistoryComboBox
.
A lot of the code in MultiTagger
could probably be replaced by core methods.
I don't understand the dialog itself and therefore wonder if it is still of any use.

I think I'll simply remove the code. This will close some more tickets and I am pretty sure that nobody uses this dialog.
We'll find out soon when I am wrong.

My team and I use the multitagger tool on a frequent basis. We primarily use it for naming consistency on a city wide scale to check for small grammatical/spelling errors that need to be fixed. This tool allows us to easily check all of the names at once and allows us to make the changes as we find those mistakes.

OK. In that case I'll try to fix the known problems. Please can you describe how you use this? I found no hint so far.

Our team uses this tool for larger editing scopes to improve the quality of data. I personally use this tool on a daily basis to modify and update road names and destination tags. Removing this tool would decrease the quality of data that our team is able to produce.

Is there some documentation about it beyond the few words on the OSM-Wiki?
It would be appreciated if someone could document this action under Help/Action/MultiTag. Thanks in advance.
