From a discussion with Don-vip, it is apparent that some users will be confused by the base name wikidata. The attached patch lets users know that the name has changed.

or maybe just osmwiki? I guess if we want more interaction with the OSM wiki apart of data items, it will be in this plugin as well.

Works for me, if we intend to make it more of an OSM Wiki Interaction plugin (in that case, I should probably see about getting a repo in the GitHub JOSM namespace, and do a bidirectional sync with my repository). I'll open a new ticket for requesting repos on the JOSM GitHub. I've got a few projects.
TBH, I _did_ intend to parse the wiki data items at some point for validations, autofixes, etc. Its just kind of low priority for me at the moment.

I suggested "osmwiki-dataitem" to avoid any reference to "wikidata", as the plugin is not related to https://www.wikidata.org/
