Is this a problem of an external style? Please, disable all other styles and recheck with only JOSM's default style.
Maybe it is a problem with non-Latin charset. Would you mind to point to an object for reproduction or attaching a small example file, please, thanks.

I found that the bug is in sit.mapcss when I deactivate it the names were rendered good. this file is created by indoorhelper plugin. I deactivated this plugin before but the style file still activated from that time. The plugin must deactivate the style file when it deactivated.

I reported the bug also in java 8.
