#20973 closed enhancement (fixed)

Survelliance Camera Directional painting

Reported by: SherbetS Owned by: team
Priority: minor Milestone:
Component: External mappaint style Version:
Keywords: direction node Cc: Hanikatu

Description

Hello.

In the iD editor, when you input the value for camera:direction onto a surveillance camera, it displays a grey cone to indicate the direction that the camera faces. JOSM does not have this feature, making it less convenient to tag cameras correctly.

Well, there is the external style Direction. It covers cameras but there are more tags like viewpoints, benches and traffic_signals which icons could be rotated to reflect the correct direction.

I have spoken to the creator of the Direction paint style, and they have added support for camera:direction

Yes, that's what I wrote above.

I was thinking about rotating the icon and at least NE, NW, SE and SW should be supported. I will stick to numbers in degree, meanwhile.
For cameras there are more values which could be used like camera:type and camera:angle.
