Sorry, I won't be able to help you without more information. Does the validator dialog before upload show up? Does the upload dialog show up?

Some guesses:

• your layer has the flag upload=never set. In the layer panel have a look at "Info", last item in context menu.
• Please, try to download a small area to a new layer and only change one object and try to upload. Does it work?
