Allow Lat/Lon input before downloading anything

Description

I often have a set of coordinates that I want to insert into the Lat/Lon dialog box as soon as JOSM opens. However, the Lat/Lon Tool menu selection under the More Tools menu is greyed out and unavailable until after I download an area. This seems a needless requirement as the area I'm interested in visiting (near the coordinates), is seldom the area I worked in when I last exited JOSM.

So, the enhancement I'm asking for is that the Lat/Lon Tool would allow user input as soon as JOSM opens.

Simply open an empty new layer (see file menu)?

Thank you. I did not know it was possible to do that.

I guess the "enhancement" I requested is not needed.

Set your email in Preferences
Action
as closed The owner will remain AlaskaDave.
as The resolution will be set.
The resolution will be deleted. Next status will be 'reopened'.

Add Comment
E-mail address and name can be saved in the Preferences .
