Unable to Join Node To Way when way is the same one that the node belongs to

Description
Example way: https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/750641359. Try joining node 7018586511 to the segment that is right by it using the "N" shortcut
The "P" shaped way is very common in driveways and parking lots, but I am no longer able to join a misplaced end node to the long part of the way, no matter how close the node is to the way segment or how far I'm zoomed out or in.

Could be a regression of r15428.
A workaround: Add a node to the long segment first and merge the nodes.
