Advanced Preferences: show (English) description text as tooltip

Description

For many properties, their meaning is documented in the source code in terms of Javadoc (cf. AutoFilterManager). We could make this documentation available as (English only) tooltip texts shown in the advanced preference table.

I'm not fond of this for some reasons:

  • a short description for hidden options usually will not be enough in most cases to really know what you do
  • it will be complex to get this information into the software
  • UI should be in one language when possible. Introducing a part which is English only is a big step backwards - It was a long fight to get everything translatable

Action
as closed The owner will remain team.
as The resolution will be set.
The resolution will be deleted. Next status will be 'reopened'.

Add Comment
E-mail address and name can be saved in the Preferences .
