What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Modify or create a note
- Enter some text
- Right click into window
What is the expected result?
An option to run spell checker
What happens instead?
No option
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.
Notes is only one example. Eventually we could have spellchecking one every place we enter text.

Spell checker isn't an light feature. It requires having a dictionary per language, the ability to ignore words and so on. Too heavy for JOSM.
For linux you only need hunspell integration, it is usually already installed as common other applications like browser and libreoffice depend on it and use it.
