Today I loaded up a 311MB osm file with all paths in sweden in JOSM. I marked x thousand elements in the list of elements and click "select" I have no control over the operation running.
Could we add a popup that activates if an action has been running for say 20 seconds?
I would like the ability to cancel the action while it is ongoing.

The only other option I have is to close and open JOSM it seems. This is not nice because the rendering took a while.

Had to kill the java process because JOSM stopped responding even to click on close in the corner.
