#18045 closed enhancement (duplicate)

To save/load overpass queries to/from osm account/local josm pathways

Description

Hello,

I have several (very very very) precious overpass queries saved in my osm account. So, to use them, I have to use the web interface (overpass-turbo) to load, copy and finally paste them in the right tab of the right panel to load the osm data. *ouf*

So I wonder if loading (and saving) queries from josm directly not be more simple... ;) From/to either the osm account, either (somewhere) in the pathway(s) used by josm locally. Or both.

If exists already a way to do that, I didn't found it :(

Thx for the answer, whatever it is.

Overpass querries can be saved in JOSM locally, see wiki:Help/Action/Download#DownloadfromOverpassAPI

Using the saved querries of your osm account in JOSM is not (yet) implemented in JOSM.

What do you mean with "saved in my osm account"?

@klumbumbus: Thx for the hepfull link! Need glasses I guess (to see the microscopic arrow and open the right panel...) Maybe "not yet" will be replaced by soon or done in a far/near future ;-) Anyway, thx (again, yes) for what you do for the users of josm.

@stoecker: Maybe, I have a basic use of overpass-turbo. So. I save query I built via "saved" button (what else?), either "local" either "on osm.org" ie in my osm account (I use overpass-turbo logged with my osm IDs).

@stoecker we can store and read preferences from the OSM API:
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/API_v0.6#Preferences_of_the_logged-in_user

Overpass Turbo uses it already.

Yes, I remember now.

Does a noticable number of people use this? We had such a feature on josm.openstreetmap.de also and I dropped it together with the applet as it was essentially unused.

The easier way to use stored queries is to use remote control directly from overpass turbo (Export > Load into JOSM).
The problem I see with the looking for the stored OT-Queries is that some of these will be stored locally, not in the account. Some people will be looking even for the locally stored ones.
