How do I divide/split/cut lines/ways into equal parts?

Please be more specific.
What would be the result of that? Maybe n parts with the same length or with the same number of nodes? What is the use case?

Yes GerdP, thats the prupose, I want to create some nodes on a line and I want them to have the same distance between them.
