Description ¶
When ordering stops (following the ways in the route relation), they are added multiple times if a way is used more than once in the route relation. This happens quite regularly on bus routes, as they make loops and "spoons".
If the side of the road the stop is on, would be considered, it would be possible to determine for which direction of travel they should be added to the route relation.
This applies to nodes mapped alongside the way. For nodes (stop_position) mapped as nodes on the ways, it's impossible to determine on which side of the road they are.
