UnknownHostException when trying to run the JOSM

Hi,
I am a new user and I tried installing your application using the multiple ways you have mentioned in your website, but all of them result in the following error which seems to be related to the proxy configuration and the application not being able to access some sources, but I am not sure how to solve this. I appreciate your help on this.

The content for the help topic /Preferences/Connection could not be loaded. The error message is (untranslated): org.openstreetmap.josm.gui.help.HelpContentReaderException: java.net.UnknownHostException: josm.openstreetmap.de

That error message simply says, that the address of this server cannot be resolved. This means JOSM has completely no internet access. This can't be a proxy issue, as proxy access comes behind name resolution.

Please add the relevant information we ask for in the ticket submission page, see #16341, add full error messages, the status info, screenshots etc.

I cannot download

I do have internet access (from Ford motor company network if that helps). Isn't JOSM able to automatically accesses the network?
I am absolutely new to this application but I assume that I should be able to download from OSM and be able to modify it in JOSM but this is not the case as I cannot connect to the server. I was not able to validate any address manually either.

Can you please tell me more about your system:

a) Do you have IPv4, IPv6 or both and which do you normally use. You can verify this by calling ip4.stoecker, ip6.stoecker.eu, ip.stoecker.eu pages.
b) Try resetting preferences (see Help/ResetPreferences).
c) Did it work once or never?

I resolved the issue by manually setting the proxy host and port.
