I agree that this is quite intuitive currently. In addition, you immediately notice the change on the image if you move a slider. I would prefer to keep the visual clutter as low as possible.
However, what about replacing the "|" on the lower and the "|" on the higher end with "-" and "+" symbols? That is just a tiny dash more than it is now.
Regarding the current value: jidanni, could you provide a use case for the current value? I use those sliders quite often and never had the desire to know the current value of a slider.

I too don't real see a need for the display of the current exact percentage. Regarding 0/100% or -/+ the direction of the sliders are already indicated by the icons beside.
I would rather wish a way to reset the slider to its default position. Maybe by clicking on the icon beside?

True. Although that is quite hard to recognize.

This function would be like an easter egg. ;-) However, useful for those who know and not a problem for those who don't. I guess that not many will click on the icon and be totally confused afterwards. But, still, it is not really an intuitive UI design. It would be better to discuss in a new ticket, wouldn't it?

Users must be able to determine the value they have set it to:
- When making a bug report: "the problem occurs between 56 and 67%"
- When talking to staff over the phone. "OK, now move the slider to 42%. That's when you see the left corner of the football stadium show up over the base map, correct?"
- When writing documentation: "I personally prefer 60-70% percent, but some of my co-workers feel 55-65% helps with the ..."
- In the courtroom: "I set the slider to 42% and thus was not aware of the missile complex. Prosecution uses 45%, but as you see it was only 42%!"

I think it's intuitive for Western people to have 0% on the left side and 100% on the right side. Not for other cultures I guess? Especially for right-to-left writing languages?
