Imagery randomly stops loading

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1.
Enable some aerial imagery (in my case usually SDFE)
2.
Start editing in an area, panning & zooming in and out as needed

What happens instead?

Suddenly aerial imagery stops loading some tiles. The only way to resume is by restarting JOSM. It used to happen once in a while, but recently has become quite crazy, to the point of making JOSM nearly useless.

In the console (where I launch JOSM) I've noticed the message:

Defaults for osm-server.url differ: https://api.openstreetmap.org/api !=

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

It seems you're the only one facing this issue, do you still have the problem with latest version of JOSM? Have you tried on a different machine or with a fresh profile?

Maybe not related: I am having trouble with the right mouse button. I use it "pressed" to move the screen and more or less
every 5th time the right mouse button context menu shows up where the 1st option is "auto load tiles"
When this option is disabled accidentially (happens 10 times a day on my PC) tiles are no longer updated.
I am not sure if this is related to my mouse (buttons) or if there was a change in JOSM, but I think I did not have this problem last year.
