Description (last modified by Don-vip)

Since 2017-05-09 we can trace from DigitalGlobe imagery: announcement

I checked a few places near the boundary polygons for high resolution Bing imagery (tagged hires:imagery=Bing) and compared with Mabbox as well. There seem to be places all around the earth where DigtalGlobe imagery is by far the best available, examples:

Now I don't really get the distinction between "Standard" and "Premium", sometimes one is better and sometimes the other. I guess we just make both default and let the user figure it out.

+1, great news to see a new actor.

Concerning the two services, the wiki states:
> DigitalGlobe-Premium is a mosaic composed of DigitalGlobe basemap with select regions [ specify ] filled with +Vivid or custom area of interest imagery, 50cm resolution or better, and refreshed more frequently with ongoing updates
> DigitalGlobe-Standard is a curated set of imagery covering 86% of the earth's landmass, with 30-60cm or resolution where available, backfilled by Landsat. Average age is 2.31 years, with some areas [ specify ] updated 2x year.
