#14417 closed enhancement (fixed)

Air navigation aid stations

Reported by: geozeisig Owned by: team
Priority: normal Milestone: 17.06
Component: Internal preset Version:
Keywords: template_report Cc:

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Please have a look at airmark=beacon, aeroway=navigationaid and man_made=beacon. These tags were used in the past parallel for the same, both in wiki and tagging. We cleaned up the wiki and the database.
  2. This can be seen at taginfo.beacon:type and taginfo.navigationaid

What is the expected result?

You can find man_made=beacon in the menue transport.airport and has an antenna symbol. That should stand for airmark=beacon.

aeroway=navigationaid and man_made=beacon should find a new place.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

What you see on the picture is a tower. I would use man_made=tower.

The man_made=beacon wikipage says: "Such objects are distinct from [...] marine navigation beacons"
I think thats wrong. What would be the difference between a man_made=beacon and a marine navigation beacon?

comment:6 by chrabros, 7 years ago

I think that means that man_made=beacon is on land while marine navigation beacon is sea based.
Or at least it should be tagged using seamarks tags.
