Option to hide the horizontal toolbar

Couldn't we have an option to hide this horizontal toolbar (but keep the menus), please?

Go into preferences and remove any entry from the toolbar.

But sometimes we just want/need to hide it (and not keep adding and removing buttons from it; it's not intuitive as it is now)
It should be exactly what we already have in View → Edit toolbar (for the left vertical menu bar)
