Same thing here. After a few minutes editing the functionality of the keyboard shortcuts of the "Edit" menu items (Undo, Redo, Copy, Paste, etc). Unfortunately I cannot find a method how to reproduce it (yet) that I could share here.

Hi ulrich,

I had this problem at the beginning and I reported it as an error, but It was resolved after updating Java packages of my MAC. This error might be because of the older Java version in your system. Try updating it and restart your JOSM. It solved my problem, hopefully it will solve yours as well.

Cheers,
Jothirnadh

Hi Jothirnadh,
Thanks for your comment. According to my Java control panel, I already have the latest Java version (1.8.0_66). My JRE is still at 1.7.0_51 for some reason. I'll update that as well and see if that helps.
Cheers,
Ulrich
